A Word from Me...





Hope all of you had a great New Years and Christmas! After a week of BLCH1 being offline... and wondering when and if ever we'd ever see it again, it's now back... I think I kinna got spoiled by the snertless private rooms we visited that week.  It was great to see that we pulled together and found ways to keep our group meeting together without any problems!



Grnidbabie/Debbie and Ljuls24/Julie both had some surgery the past week... and they're both healing-up but doing well. If ya see them roaming  through the halls, be sure to give 'em a hug!



Thank you to Cootie, TeeBabe, Quin, Jas, Kat, Jamie, and ALL the contributors to the Gazette over the past year! You guys are the Best!!!

*****Mommy's note*****  I know a lot of you may be too frozen to read this, but trust me, we are no exception.  It's a balmy 10 degrees as I'm writing this.  We're having a warming trend!  I'm huddled under a blankie and about 6 inches of snow with more falling.  Freeklet started back to school this week after the holiday break, and has been bombarded with homework.  Why do schools do this to kids?????  Give them a couple weeks off, then nail 'em when they get back.  Seems unfair to me.    I would love to hear from teachers or other school personnel to possibly explain this to me.  Way2Freeky    Anyhow, Freeklet's story is a little bit short this time, because of the mad homework rush.  (Still growling)  We kinda cheated.  It's a story I overheard her telling her sister.  It was so cute, I thought we had to write it for y'all this time.  We all hope you had a wonderful holiday season!

and I Had to Send Freeklet Off to School Before We Had the Chance  :)

Once upon a time there were 2 princesses named Allison and Jamie.  They lived with their evil stepmom, Loretta.  Their father passed away a month ago.



One day they went out picking flowers for their grandma.  Suddenly a big bad wolf came.  He asked where their grandma lived.  They said, "On the edge of the forest."  When they got to their grandma's house, it was made out of candy and ginger bread.  Grandma thanked them for the flowers and told them that if they got hungry they could eat her house.



Then they left her house and went to their other grandma's house.  Her house was made out of vegetables--YUK!!!!!  She said, "You can help yourself to my house if you get hungry."  They left and went to the jungle to see Uncle Tarzan and Aunt Jane.



Then they went home and their evil stepmother was dead.  And the two princesses became Queens.

 ~ Announcement ~ 



 Kunphuzed and Imbri are happy to announce 

the continuation of a long standing Texas tradition..... 

THE DALLAS BASH.

 

 The Third Annual Dallas Bash (DB 3.0) is scheduled for Friday Feb 12 through Sunday Feb 14, 1999, with possible LATE events on Monday the 15th for those who will have Presidents Day Off.

 

 At the moment, all we are ONLY looking for a show of hands who might be interested in receiving further information, to write to "KUNPHUZED" and include "DALLAS BASH" in the subject line.... to identify the request from SPAM mail, or it just might get deleted.

 

 For those wanting to check airfares, the airport of choice is Dallas Fort Worth (DFW).  If we have enough people, we might be able to arrange a group discount with a major carrier of 5%-10%  This is NO guarantee.  Please indicate if you will be flying in, and if so, from where.

 

 Also, we will have a block of rooms at the same hotel as the party on Saturday night, and will provide info on securing them in future mailings.  This is the same hotel as DB 1.0

 

 Events are tentatively scheduled as follows:

 

 Friday Night..... 

mingle and hang out.  A possible trip to "Cowboys" (a local western bar), or other local retreat.

 

 Saturday Morning... 

For those of you who can get up... a casual breakfast at a coffee shop

 

 Saturday Day... 

Fort Worth Stockyards.  A throw back to the old west.  Including a ride on the Tarantula Steam train.  A real working 36 mile round trip ride on a working steam train through the heart of the Dallas Fort Worth Area.

 

 Saturday Night... 

Dinner at Trail Dust Steakhouse (a true western steak house), or other local fare.  We will try to avoid the waterfall this year.  Then its off for the party itself at the hotel.  We will have a large room reserved for hanging out and enjoying the company.

 

 Sunday Morning... 

For those of you who can get up... a casual breakfast at a coffee shop (yes... just like Saturday)

 

 Sunday Afternoon... 

Start saying our good byes as people find their way back to the airport

 

 Sunday Night... 

for those who are still here..... we play it by ear ....

 

 If you know of someone who might not receive this invite, 

please feel free to send a copy directly to them.
